Cee’s Photo Challenge: Flower of the Day 9/21/16
My love of flowers was securely and indelibly imprinted in grade school when I read a book about a girl who ate flowers. I don’t remember the exact title, but I do know that I was obsessed with this book and checked it out of the school library at least a dozen times. Probably more. I loved this book! The plot was pretty basic – the girl ate flowers, each page beautifully illustrated with various kinds. Looking back, the allure must have been the merging of my love of food and flowers. I modeled her behavior the best way I knew how – violet and rose jellies. To this day, I still hoard rose petal jelly (not rose hip!) whenever I find it.
The photo of the lemony-raspberry dahlia is from my garden and was taken for Cee’s Photo Challenge: Flower of the Day – 9/21/16 using a macro lens that clips onto my iPhone. I had to resist the urge to eat it. 😉
P.S. If anyone knows the title or author of this book, do share! I’d like to locate a used copy.
Gorgeous dahlias. 😀
